Gifts of the Blood (Angel’s Edge, Book One)
It ends way too abruptly. She still lives in glood Deep South with her husband, children, and attendant menagerie, but is pretty sure her house isn’t haunted. It seemed thf me they had been struck with a sickness, or taken prisoner, and I dared to pity them.
One of the slowest books I’ve ever read. I didn’t carebecause I liked it so much I’m itching to get my hands on the sequel tye after I finished reading it. There’s no legitimate conflict; no significant developments; and, worst of all, there is no real REASON anything happens in this book, nothing they are working towards.
I am just not into paranormal books with angels. I mean, one minute they are talking friendly and the next they’re insulting each other.
I am very curious to see what’s next for Ethan and Caspia! All the small awkward things he tried to do just keep on making me love him! Her relationship with her brother is so close and lovely.
His character started out great with the first meeting with Caspia in Ms. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. My library Help Advanced Book Search.
Intriguing start and concept, and a strong relationship with her brother I know that you don’t think I did because of the three stars I gave it but I honestly might have liked this better than Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Then, of course, they calm down and are rational again.
You can compare it gigts the Laini Taylor book and see whether you found the relationship more compelling in this one or not. Things get worse for Caspia the day she draws an angry stranger framed by planes of light and violent, bloody images.
It made me very emotional at time with Logan kept waiting for Caspia to wake-up and find him gone so I was pleased at the keide in a way. They have great conversations, these two. It has a heroine who is an amazing artist and a hero who is angel.
Caspia did say numerous times how she was going to spend more time with him, but she never did. View all 10 comments. An insane angelic kidnapper in flamboyant red leather. She never drew people either but there he was beautiful but with angry features and a tornado of wind and items flying around him a book, a talon I like the story and the writing style of the author!!
Gifts of the Blood (Angel’s Edge, Book One) : Vicki Keire :
There were underdeveloped ideas and cliche but those hardly matters for me anymore because at the end of the day what really matters is if you enjoyed the book, and I did, and that ending was all sorts of perfect! And I just love Ethan. Maybe the Nephilim thing just isn’t doing it for me Anyway, she did show bkood kick-ass and interesting side but she still disappoints me from time to time.
Before her world tilts towards impossible, Caspia Chastain thinks the only strange thing about her is that she sometimes draws the future. But I am going to read the second one and, I’ll be honest, nowadays, even if the books are series, I only read the first one because that’s how long a story holds my attention.
Other books in the series. In order to protect herself and her brother, she turns to the one who seems to have started it all: I’m at a bit of a loss here as I’m not sure b I feel about this book. Nephilim and Fallen Angels, Demons and family, nothing is as it seems in this small town.
Dec 11, Rosie Amber rated it really liked it. I also found that the story was a little jumpy, it never really flowed from one section to the next. It’s not that i don’t believe in Love at first sight. Even though she created it and the people who live there, it still has the power to surprise her. If you’re looking for a book with no depth or substance and that is void of any kind of structure or development, then you need not look any further.
I’m a bit annoyed however that the author has our characters playing dumb and not knowing who the big bad guy is when their intelligence indicates they would have figured it out already.
They mean the same thing. Only her brother Yifts, fighting his cancer diagnosis, knows what she can do.
It’s just ok if you want to read a quick paranormal, with Angels as the main magical creatures and a sad backstory. Also, the characters aren’t bad, but I liked more the side characters than the main ones, but This book wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. But Ethan has his own agenda, Logan’s getting sicker fast, and Caspia finds that drawing the future isn’t the only strange thing she can do.
She is determined and fierce, but unsure a This book is by far the best angel-demon book about the fight between good and evil in a while. Full of electric intensity and intoxicatingly heady passion between the main protagonists, here is a sparkling story Dark magnetism and intensity draws you into the most delicious debut!
I was really really bored and just wanted something interesting to happen.
